Hoedspruit South Africa offers opportunities to go on a Big 5 Game Drive in the morning or afternoon. Pridelands Game Reserve is 3 km from Hoedspruit town in the Greater Kruger National Park. You can take a full-day safari in the Kruger National Park with an open safari vehicle. A South African game safari is a must on your bucket list of adventures. It can be a luxury game safari in South Africa, or you do a budget game safari in South Africa. Many of the lodges do not allow children under the age of 6 on safaris, but if you want a family game safari in South Africa, contact me via email – info@hoedspruitonline.co.za. I will find a safari company or lodge that allows children on a game safari.

What to wear on a safari
A safari dress code does not have to be complicated. You should wear neutral or earthly colors, but don’t wear bright colors like red, yellow, or purple. Always have a sun hat and bring along sunblock. The South African sun can be harsh even in the winter months. During the winter months, it can be cold – +3 degrees so bring along something warm to wear for the early morning game drives and the late afternoon drive. During the summer months, wear clothing that is light and breezy.
What to take along on your safari
1: Binoculars – a good pair will assist you in identifying birds, and mammals that are far away.
2: A camera – if you have a good camera with a good lens, it will allow you to capture the wildlife and bring back memories. If you do not have a camera, your cell phone camera will also do a good job.
3: Sun cream – it can get very hot under the African sun. Make sure you have at least a 40+ factor suncream. Lip ice or lip balm is also useful in keeping your skin moist.
4: Clothing – the temperatures can vary greatly during the day. If you are going out during the winter months, make sure you bring along some warm clothing that can be layered. Early morning drives can be cold but it warms up once the sun comes out. Afternoon drives start warm but once the sun goes down, it can become chilly.
