Elephant Moments, Hoedspruit, Limpopo Province, South Africa. The main focus is interaction and promoting elephant conservation. Up-close education teaches visitors that elephants should be treated with care, respect, and consideration.
You will have the exclusive opportunity to observe the herd nearby while learning more about their behavior. Elephants have unique character traits, an incredible story, and what it entails to take care of them. There are 15 elephants in the Jabulani Herd.

The experience takes place in the elephants’ natural environment, offering great photographic opportunities.

How did it all start?

Discover the unique, dramatic, but wonderful story behind how Elephant Moments came into existence.  It all began with the rescue of a four-month-old elephant calf in June 1997.

What to expect at the Elephant Moments Interaction with the Jabulani herd of elephants

Arrive at sunrise at the Elephant Sanctuary, Hoedspruit, Limpopo Province, South Africa. This soulful 90-minute experience will delve deeper into the anatomy and social structure of these gentle giants. You will learn about each elephant’s unique personality and remarkable story.

When do the Elephant Moments tours start?

Daily tours from 06h30 to 08h00. The tour is ninety minutes long.

Complimentary tea or coffee with biscuits will be available on arrival and at the end of your elephant experience.

What does the Elephant Moments Tour cost?

Low season rates – 1 November 2025 to 13 December 2025

The tour costs R1320 per person (children 6-12 R660pp) for the 90-minute tour

High season rates – 1 July 2025 to 31 October 2025 and from 14 December 2025 to 15 January 2026

The tour costs R1980 per person (children 6-12 R1320pp) for the 90-minute tour

No children under the age of 6 years.

Transfers to or from your lodge or hotel are not included in the tour price. I can arrange transfers if required.

A Safari Boutique Shop is on-site where you can purchase Curios for your account.

Where are Elephant Moments tours held?

Elephant Moments is in the Kapama Game Reserve. Entry is through the Kapama Game Reserve Main Gate on the R40 road between Hoedspruit and Hazyview. You must arrive at the gate by 06h00 and follow the signs to the Elephant Moment sanctuary. Enjoy the Kampama Elephant Interaction just outside Hoedspruit, South Africa.

What to wear to Elephant Moments?

Wear comfortable clothing, preferably non-bright colors like red and purple. It might be cool in the early morning, so bring a jacket or jersey that can be removed if it warms up. Experience an elephant moment with the Jabulani elephants.

Things to bring to Elephant Moments

Bring sunglasses, a sun hat, and a camera—a cell phone camera will also do. Bring something warm to wear in the winter, as it can be cold in the early morning.

Can children join the Elephant Moments tour?

Children must be at least 6 years old.
