Imbali Safari Lodge Accommodation

Imbali Safari Lodge has 12 spacious luxury suites, subtly decorated in neutral colours with splashes of African traditions. Large French doors run the room length to let the beautiful outside wilderness in, on your terms. An expansive deck overlooks the N’waswitsontso River or savannah grasslands with a private outdoor pool to complete your leisure bush experience. Relax on the sunbed with a book or let those bubbles soothe your weary muscles. The chattering of weavers, thrushes, and kingfishers will provide a magical bush playlist for relaxation.

Each room comes with a complimentary mini-bar with selected beverages and a tea/coffee facility for your convenience in your suite.

The spacious stone and marble bathroom features a Victorian-style bathtub and walk-in shower. With signature bath amenities, a hairdryer, and fluffy bathrobes, soak your stresses away as you soak away the modern-day stresses in natural bath salts while looking out onto the peace of the Kruger bush.

There is a daily scheduled flight from OR Tambo International Airport to Skukuza Airport and flights to Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport.

Activities at Imbali Safari Lodge

Self-Drive: Because of the proximity of the camp to the Kruger National Park, you can do a self-drive safari between your morning and afternoon safari game drives. Satara Rest Camp is only an hour’s drive away. This enables you to experience so much more on your safari adventure. Visit the Timbavati picnic site and other water holes and dams in the vicinity.

Wellness at the Camp: There is a small gym with in-room gym bags to help you relax.

Bush Dinners: It is always such a thrill to be able to enjoy a romantic dinner in the bush under the stars. The dry river bed in front of the camp makes an ideal setting. Private romantic dinners can be done on your private deck so you can celebrate your special holiday.

Imbali Safari Lodge Rates

Imbali Safari Lodge is a luxury tented camp with fully inclusive rates, including two safari game drives a day, three meals, and high tea, from R5067 per person sharing (SADC Rate). A free transfer from Hoedspruit to Imbali Safari Lodge if your booking is for three days or more. Valid till 31 March 2025.

Why stay at Imbali Safari Lodge?

Imbali Safari Lodge is one of the best places to stay in Kruger National Park. It is a small safari lodge with tented accommodations. Access to the camp is on good tarred roads, although the last 50 km is on good gravel roads accessible to all vehicles. If you want to, you can visit Kruger National Park in your vehicle between the morning and afternoon game drives. Satara Rest Camp is an hour’s drive from the lodge. There are many picnic sites in the area that you can also visit to expand your Kruger Park experience. It is possible to do a day trip to the Panorama Route or to the Blyde Canyon Dam.

Imbali Safari Lodge is located within the private 10,000-hectare concession of Mluwati in the western region of the Kruger National Park, near Orpen Gate. It borders the northern Sabi Sands Game Reserve and Manyeleti Game Reserve.

You may not drive off-road in Kruger National Park, but because Imbali Safari Lodge is on a private concession, your ranger is allowed to drive off-road with the open safari game viewer. This means you can get much closer to the animal sightings and improve your chances of great photographic opportunities, especially the Big5 Five (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, and elephant). If you have your own transport, you will be able to do a self-driving safari in Kruger National Park. Imbali Safari Lodge is within an easy drive to Satara Rest Camp and various picnic sites.

Is Imbali Safari Lodge accessible by car?

Access is very easy on tar and gravel roads, accessible by all sedans. You can also fly to Skukuza Airport (63 km away) or Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport (1115 km away) and get a transfer to Imbali Safari Lodge.

Their open-vehicle safari vehicles are allowed off-road, enabling you to get closer to the wildlife. With easy access to Kruger National Park, you could do a self-driving safari from the Lodge. This option allows you to see more wildlife in between your game drives at the camp.

What to Wear on a Safari

A safari dress code does not have to be complicated. It is recommended that you wear neutral colors, and don’t wear bright colors like red, yellow, or purple. Always have a sun hat and bring along sunblock. The African sun can be harsh. During winter, it can be quite cool – +3 degrees, so bring along something warm to wear in the early morning safari game drives and for the late afternoon drive. During the summer months wear clothing that is light and breezy.

Getting there by Air

SA Express flies to Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport daily from OR Tambo Airport and from Cape Town Airport. Both flights are direct flights. Transfers can be arranged from the Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport to the Camp or you can hire a car from the airport. Click here for more information.

Getting there by car

By Car – Imbali Safari Lodge is in Kruger Park. You can reach the camp through the Paul Kruger Gate if you are driving via Nelspruit or through the Orpen Gate if you driving through Hoedspruit and the Panorama Route.
