The best way to experience the Kruger National Park is to do a multiple-day Kruger Park Safari. This gives you the full experience of Kruger’s magnificence and vastness. The Kruger National Park allows you to experience the Big5, over 500 birds, fauna, and flora. The main rest camps have well-stocked shops (including liquor) and restaurants. This makes self-catering easy for overnight stays if you don’t want to eat at the restaurant. The overnight accommodation facilities offer kitchens, braai, and fridge facilities instead of using the restaurants. The Kruger National Park three-night safari allows you to spend four days in a well-equipped open safari game vehicle with a professional and accredited guide.

What is the best time to do a Kruger Park Safari?
The best time to visit Kruger National Park South Africa depends on what you want to see. Kruger National Park is a vast area with 13 different vegetation types including sandy, wooded, and grassland savanna areas, woodlands, mopane, mixed thorn, and marula trees.
During the summer months – October to April – the migratory birds return, along with the rain. The bush can be thick and makes game viewing challenging.
During the winter months – May to September – there is very little rain, the trees lose their leaves, and viewing is easier. The winter months are cooler so warmer clothing must be worn on early morning and late afternoon game drives.
The best time to visit Kruger Park is a million-dollar question. My advice is if you come from a colder climate, you will find the summer months very hot (up to 40 degrees). The winter months seldom reach freezing point but can be very cold in the early mornings.
What to wear on Kruger Park Safari?
During the summer months, a hat and a raincoat is essential. There are raincoats for game drives. The open safari vehicle does have a roof.
During the winter months bring warm clothing that can easily be removed once it gets warmer during the day.
It is always advisable to wear plain neutral colors. Avoid bright clothing like royal blue, purple, orange, red, or yellow. It is also advisable to wear closed shoes.
Bring along a swimming costume to cool down in the summer months.
What to bring along on a Kruger Park Safari?
Bring along your camera. A cell phone with a camera will also do if you don’t have a camera with a zoom lens.
A pair of binoculars is always useful to see birds in trees and mammals far away.
Sunglasses and suntan lotion are a must. If you suffer from dry lips, bring a tube of lip ice.
you will be provided with water during your safari. The vehicle has a USB port so you can charge your phone.
